A rotary indexer is used to convey and position components during a manufacturing process. These systems allow for parallel  workflow which can allow multiple operations to be performed at the same time. They also are require less space since the basic design is circular in shape. Some of the common parameters which are important in selecting a rotary indexer are number of positions, cycle time, applied force, index table diameter, moment of inertia, etc.
